Can I get altitude sickness at ArteSumapaz

ArteSumapaz at 1,400 meters, itself, is just below whats considered “high” altitude. If you go to Bogotá (2,640 meters or 8,660 feet above sea level) before coming here, you could, however, feel the effects – and sometimes that can linger on into your time here for a few days – particularly if you’re coming from sea level.

The custom in Colombia is to to treat altitude sickness, or soroche with some cups of coca tea, which you can often purchase in a health food store. You should also drink lots of water, and watch out for drinking too much alcohol. See https://travelhealthpro.org.uk/factsheet/26/altitude-illness
