We welcome artists, musicians, writers, performers, and makers.

About the ArteSumapaz AIR

ArteSumapaz was created on the premise that the arts can fundamentally enrich the lives of both artists and communities. Inspired by the examples of Black Mountain College, the Bauhaus, and countless communities, the artists in residence contribute to arts education and experience new approaches to living and art.

Residency fee of $700 for a one month stay includes private living space in our hundred-year-old hacienda, all meals, and space in a large communal studio with high ceilings and natural light.

The artists-in-residence may contribute to the alternative school by giving workshops, classes, “open crit” sessions (group discussions about the student’s art), or one-on-one discussions.

During your stay, you will enjoy an incredible experience not only to create art, music, film and literature but also to discover all that Colombian culture has to offer – its amazing people, its sumptuous foods, as well as its beautiful scenic attractions.
